About the Application
Before applying please ensure you have read the following key requirements carefully:
To be eligible applicants must be currently residing within the United Kingdom, have a UK postal address and bank account, and one of the following:
1. UK passport holders
2. Pre-settled or settled status (EU passport holders)
3. Indefinite ‘leave to remain’ status in the UK (any passport holder).
Current students are not eligible, thus we regret we are unable to accept applications from individuals looking for ‘year in industry’ placements.
Placements are for fixed periods of 90 days (13 weeks) and it is a requirement that you spend the full period in your destination country. The start date (flight out to your Host Country) will be around 20th - 24th April. End date (return flight to UK) 89 days from the date of departure.
After Brexit, freedom of movement around the EU for British Citizens is no longer possible. However, British citizens are covered by a Schengen visa waiver. This means you do not need to apply for a Schengen visa to visit these countries for up to 90 days in a 180-day period. All our host countries in our programme are within the Schengen Area (except Ireland, free movement between UK citizens and Ireland is allowed).
The Schengen area countries apply the 90-day waiver rule as a group. This means if you travel from one of these countries to another, or visit more than one within a 180 day-period, it all counts towards the 90-day limit. A non-EU national who stays in the Schengen area beyond 90 days (without a residence permit or long-stay visa) is illegally present.
There will be several days of online preparatory training during the days just before your departure. Attendance at the preparatory training is compulsory. Usually this would be held in our London offices in person. However, due to the pandemic this will be done through the safety of your laptop at home.
