About the Course

  • Aim: This unit will provide you with an understanding of how to present yourself in a manner appropriate to the creative industries sector. You will critically evaluate your current presentation of yourself, research how other creative industries practitioners present themselves and articulate ways in which you will enhance your Professional Profile, Personal Brand and Online Presence.

  • Aim: This unit will teach you how to communicate professionally with clients through active listening, how to conduct a client meeting with positive outcomes, how to write an effective client brief and how to handle challenging situations through negotiation. You will also look at when and how to seek outside help to manage difficult situations.

  • Aim: The aim of this unit is to understand the basics underpinning business planning in the Creative Industries. Estimating cost of time, materials, overheads and how to plan for the unexpected as well as transparently accounting for the financial aspect of a Creative Industries business.

  • Aim: This unit is designed for learners interested in working as a Creative Industries Practitioner in an international context and aims to provide you with knowledge and an understanding of the various structures, organisations, networks, potential for collaboration and regulations that would affect you when working in a different national context.

Timetable - we will provide a detailed timetable for your course, enabling you to plan your learning effectively, with changes only made when absolutely necessary and reasonable notice given

Feedback – your tutor will provide detailed feedback on all of the assignments, tests and other assessments you complete as part of your course. When you pass, your tutor will highlight the strengths demonstrated in the assessment and if you fail to meet any assessment criteria your tutor will explain why and outline what you need to do to improve your work to meet the required standard

Communication – we will use a range of communication tools, including Google Meet, email, mobile phone and WhatsApp, and tutors and support staff will respond to any queries within 2 working days. You will also be given an emergency contact should you need to get in touch with us urgently.
