Un mes en Sevilla

I never expected to come out of this experience with a heart full of memories, a jaw aching from so much laughter or a group of new-found friendships. But this has truly been an unforgettable month in my life and one to share! I wholeheartedly urge others to jump into this opportunity with open arms.

Having recently graduated from University and having a degree within an industry that I lost an interest in, I found myself in a position of trial and error. Not only has this experience enhanced my skills, but the social side has left me feeling not so alone in my boat having met many other participants in the same position as me. One of the biggest takeaways for me will have to be how supportive and inspirational every individual I’ve met has been. We learnt things about each other and supported each other through work and or general day to day tasks.

From the first interview, all the way through to landing in Seville, Capacity UK had supported me through the whole journey. I had accepted the role of a Digital Marketer and Project Coordinator under Capacity UK. My role entailed capturing the city of Seville, creating on brand content for the social media channels, scheduling and ensuring relevance within the social media platform. I was lucky enough to be given full creative control, which aided in me finding my own style of work. The role I was under has increased my employability and assisted in my new role as a Communications and Event Coordinator.

In terms of living in Seville, where do I begin? The city will forever have a special place in my heart. Down to the history of Seville through to the fresh food and people, this is a place I would highly recommend to anyone for a city break, to live or to work in! On top of our placement, we also attended Spanish classes, which were extremely valuable because of course we needed to learn the language of our host country. Though I’m now back in London, I’ve considered continuing Spanish classes as it’s one of the most spoken language in the world and I know I’ll be coming back to Spain on a regular basis!
